Building Real Strength — The देसी Way

Rooted in tradition. Crafted by hand. Designed to last a lifetime.

Our Story

MUGDAR House was founded with a simple yet powerful purpose: to preserve and revive India's traditional strength-training heritage for future generations.

For centuries, Indian wrestlers, warriors, and athletes developed remarkable strength, endurance, and resilience using traditional training tools such as the Mugdar, Samtola, and Gada. These were more than exercise equipment—they were symbols of discipline, dedication, and a time-tested approach to physical culture practiced in akharas across India.

As modern fitness trends continued to grow, much of this valuable knowledge began to fade from public awareness. We started MUGDAR House to ensure that these traditional training methods remain accessible, relevant, and appreciated in the modern world.

MUGDAR House has been dedicated to crafting quality traditional fitness equipment while educating people about the rich legacy behind it. Our goal is not only to provide authentic training tools but also to help individuals experience the unique strength, coordination, stability, and conditioning that generations before us developed through traditional Indian exercise practices.

Today, MUGDAR House proudly serves fitness enthusiasts, athletes, coaches, and practitioners who wish to reconnect with this timeless tradition and carry it forward into the future.

Handcrafted from Sheesham Wood

Every Mugdar, Samtola, and Gada we make is handcrafted from original Sheesham wood (Indian Rosewood) — one of the hardest, most durable timbers in the world. Sheesham has been the wood of choice for Indian craftsmen for centuries, prized for its:

  • Exceptional strength — dense grain that withstands heavy, repeated use
  • Natural durability — resists warping and cracking even with daily training
  • Pest resistance — naturally repels termites and insects without chemical treatment
  • Beautiful finish — rich, warm tones that deepen with age and use

Each piece is shaped, balanced, and finished by skilled artisans in our workshop — no two are exactly alike. When you hold a Mugdar House implement, you feel the difference immediately.

You Don't Just Buy Equipment — You Learn to Use It

Traditional Indian club training has a steep learning curve. The movements are technical, the progressions are specific, and poor form can lead to injury. That's why every Mugdar House equipment purchase includes a dedicated training course.

Our courses are built on the principles of Desi Strength , the classical system of Indian club swinging — and are designed for complete beginners through advanced practitioners. You'll learn:

  • Correct grip, stance, and body mechanics
  • Progressive swing patterns from foundational to advanced
  • How to build shoulder health, grip strength, and rotational power
  • Traditional training protocols used in Indian akharas

We believe equipment without knowledge is incomplete. When you train with Mugdar House, you train with purpose.

Proudly Made in India 🇮🇳

Every piece of Mugdar House equipment is made in India, by Indian hands, using Indian wood. We are proud to support local artisans and keep a centuries-old craft alive. When you choose Mugdar House, you're not just investing in your fitness — you're supporting a tradition, a community, and a legacy.
